Password Vault is a credit card sized wireless password storage device on the BluStor CyberGate platform. That can be accessed from your desktop or mobile device. You can save all your login information in one central location. Username, password, URL’s, and notes. It uses Bluetooth to communicate to the card and safely store and retrieve password information. This solution puts you in control of your data and is completely disconnected from any type of vulnerable cloud-based solutions or network storage.

Charge your Card


  1. Remove the card and USB cable from the packaging.
  2. Connect the magnetic end of the USB cable to the card. The cable can only be attached one way due to the polarity of the magnets.
  3. Connect the opposite end to any USB power source.
  4. A solid RED LED indicates your card is fully charged.
  5. Leave your card attached to the USB cable.

Connect your Card


We are now going to pair your card to your computer over your Bluetooth wireless interface.  This is the same wireless interface you use to pair a wireless keyboard, mouse, or headset.

Your card is pre-configured to be in Bluetooth pairing mode when it is shipped from the factory and is first attached to the USB charging cable. This is indicated by the rapidly flashing YELLOW LED as shown.  If your card is not in pairing mode for any reason, please see the instructions at the bottom of this page on how to place your card back in pairing mode.

  1. Place your card near or on top of your computer.
  2. Use the Windows + I keyboard shortcut to open the Settings app.
  3. Navigate through Devices and go to Bluetooth.
  4. Select the CYBERGATE peripheral from the list and click the [Pair] button.   NOTE: It can take several minutes for this to appear.  You may have to re-scan or refresh the list before it appears.  Be patient waiting for CYBERGATE to appear in the list.
  5. Select the CYBERGATELE peripheral from the list and click the [Pair] button.

Downloading and Installing the Password Vault Software


Downloading and installing PasswordVault is easy. Download the installation executable here.  Use Windows Explorer to locate the file.  Double click on the executable.   Follow the installation wizard instructions and keep clicking on the “Next >” button. At the end of the installation, PasswordVault will automatically start and try to connect to your card.  Please ensure your computer is paired with your card as described in the steps above.

Creating a New Password Database

The first time you use your Password Vault you will need to create your password database.  It is only necessary to perform this step once with the first device that you pair with your card.

  1. From the main menu, chose File > Open -> Open URL
  2. In the Open From URL window, enter the following information:
    • URL:  cybergate://cybergate
    • User name: leave blank
    • Password: leave blank
    • Remember: select “Remeber user name and password”
    • Click the OK button
  3. The New Password Vault Database dialog box will open.  Enter a master password for your password database.
  4. A new password database will automatically be created on your Password Vault card. This step may take 5-10 seconds to complete.
  5. You will not be prompted to open your new Password Vault database.  Re-enter your master password and press the OK button.

Congratulations! You just successfully created your password database that is now stored safely within your CyberGate Password Vault.

Adding a New Password Entry

Add a new entry by selecting from the menu “Edit” and then “Add Entry”.  Complete the form and click OK.

If this is the first time you have used your card or you have not setup your password database file, you will be prompted to create a new database on the card.  You will have to enter the password twice, to confirm it’s the same.  When you finished entering the password, click the OK button.   This will create a new database on the card

 

Adding a New Password Entry

Entries represent the login credentials for a website or application.   From the menu click “Entries” and then “Add new entry”

Give the new entry a title that will describe the website or application.  The example below is for login to Amazon.  Enter your username, password, and URL to the website.  Click the OK button when complete.

Web Browser Integration


There are a number of optional third-party plugins that allow you to directly integrate your favorite web browser with your Password Vault.  These plugins allow you to automatically retrieve and save passwords without the need to open the Password Vault application.

Introduction

Pairing a Bluetooth device with your phone is a relatively simple.We are now going to pair your card to your computer over your Bluetooth wireless interface.  These instructions were written using the Galaxy S5, but the steps should be just about the same for any Android phone or tablet.

Card In Pairing Mode

Your card is pre-configured to be in Bluetooth pairing mode when it is shipped from the factory and is first attached to the USB charging cable. This is indicated by the rapidly flashing YELLOW LED as shown.  If your card is not in pairing mode for any reason, please see the instructions at the bottom of this page on how to place your card back in pairing mode.

Android Phone Pairing

  1.  Go to Settings, then Wireless and networks, then Bluetooth settings.  Make sure Bluetooth is on.  You’ll see your phone search for devices or you will have to press the “SCAN” button.
  2. Select the CYBERGATE peripheral from the list.   It may take several minutes for your CyberGate card to appear in the list of Bluetooth peripherals.   You will immediately see CYBERGATELE in the list, but you must wait for the CYBERGATE to show up in the list of devices.  You must be patient for this to appear.

Downloading and Installing the Password Vault Software


Downloading and installing PasswordVault is easy.  Download from Google Play Store.  Click the Install button. Then click the Open button. PasswordVault will automatically start and try to connect to your card.  Please ensure your computer is paired with your card as described in the steps above.

You must have the latest firmware loaded on the card to use the iPhone Password Vault app.   You can use the Windows or Mac Password Vault to update the firmware on the card.   If you see “CYBERGATELE” in the pairing discovery screen, you will have outdated firmware.  You must see “PASSWORDVLT” in the list of devices.   If you do not see “PASSWORDVLT” please contact support at support@cybergatecard.com

Placing your Card into Bluetooth Pairing Mode


When pairing you card with a second device or if your card is no longer in Bluetooth pairing mode during the initial setup, you will need to follow a few simple steps to place in back into pairing mode.

  1. Attach the USB charging cable to your card.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the card until the YELLOW LED begins to flash rapidly (approximately 3-4 seconds)

Warrning: Holding the button for longer than 8 seconds with the USB cable attached will result in a factory reset, deleting all data on your card.

Connect The Card

Assuming your card is in pairing mode and the yellow light is flashing quickly.  When you start Password Vault on your iPhone for the first time, you should see the screen below.   The name “PASSWORDVLT” will appear in the list of devices.  Select the name “PASSWORDVLT” from the list.

This will pair your phone and card together.   Once it is paired, you can take the card out of pairing mode with a single button press.  The yellow light will return to a normal slow flashing.
